Supporting Edinburgh's Young People

We support Edinburgh’s young people to give them the best chance possible to find their purpose and passions and be ambitious for their futures.

Many of the young people we work with have experienced a range of trauma, including homelessness, family breakdowns, disadvantage, mental health problems, or neglect. Others have struggled with drug and alcohol-related issues.  All of them need someone who will listen without judgement and provide the support that helps them realise their potential.

We support young people to:

  • Develop skills to live in their own home
  • Engage with education, employment, or training
  • Improve  their mental health
  • Connect with their local communities
  • Gain the confidence and skills to make positive changes to their lives

In Edinburgh, LinkLiving is the largest provider of support to young people affected by homelessness. These services include:

  • Visiting Housing Support
  • Youth Emergency Support
  • Groupwork
  • Access to Accommodation

Our  high-quality support has been recognised by the Care Inspectorate, who have awarded us the highest gradings possible of 6s (‘excellent').

As well as our extensive homelessness prevention support provision we have a range of projects to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged 1 1 -24 who struggle to engage with school, further education or employment.

Don’t just take it from us, JJ was supported by our Edinburgh Young Persons’ Service and speaks about his experience...

AJ's Story

The service has also helped people like AJ, who found himself homeless at just 15 years old...
