Volunteer with us
We are passionate about supporting people in the communities in which we work, and are always looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our volunteering teams.
More than 1.25 million people – 28 per cent of adults in Scotland – volunteer each year. Together they give 162 million hours of their time to making a difference to the lives of others.
Volunteering projects are beneficial not just to the community, but to the volunteers themselves. Becoming a volunteer can increase confidence, build self-esteem, and help establish vital employability skills.
Why volunteering matters to us
We want to make a positive difference to the lives of the people we work with.
Our values influence how we support people, and how we recruit and train our volunteers. We have earned an Investors in Volunteers accreditation in recognition of our volunteer management practices.
The contribution our volunteers make to our services is invaluable. Volunteers help expand our reach into new communities, contribute ideas and bring new skills into our organisation, which greatly benefits the people we support.
I would just like to commend LinkLiving for the excellent work you have done in my school this past session. I was lucky enough to sit in on two of your lessons and I found them to be both valuable and engaging.

We work with around 80 volunteers each year. They come from a range of backgrounds but they have one thing in common – they help us make a positive impact in people’s lives.
Here are just some examples:
- Befriending older people who are isolated and lonely
- Helping us to raise funds
- Making sure, as members of our Board, that LinkLiving is well run, financially stable and achieves its objectives
- Running social cafes which help people re-connect with their communities
- Supporting people into education or employment
