The RealLiving Older Peoples Service raised over £800 at its Fundraising Fair on Wednesday.

The fair hosted a variety of craft stalls from local entrepreneurs, and gifts made by our own volunteers and members including Christmas decorations, stocking fillers and knitted items.

Real Living’s Older Peoples Befriending Service, run by LinkLiving Ltd, part of the Link group, provides a volunteer befriending service for older people affected by social isolation in West Fife, with a focus on those who are affected by physical or mental frailty.

The service matches trained volunteers with vulnerable older people to provide person-centred befriending support in people’s homes and in their communities. It also provides an opportunity for older people to get together at its social cafes, in Torryburn and Rosyth, to enjoy companionship and to take part in activities run by the volunteers.

All money raised will be used for the project and to support any activities for the older people and volunteers engaged in the project.

RealLiving Project Worker, Amzu Jamal said: “We are thrilled with the turnout at the RealLiving Fundraising Fair. We want to thank everyone for their support in raising funds for the Befriending Service. It was a great day and great fun!”
