Published on 05/06/2014

SmartLiving's next employability programme will start on Monday 30 June 2014 giving young unemployed people aged 16 - 24 in Falkirk the chance to learn the skills they need to find a job.

The 12-week programme offers individuals the opportunity to develop their confidence and employability skills while gaining valuable work experience to put on their CV or discuss at an interview.

Sessions covered on the programme include, confidence and motivation, personality profiling, basic IT skills, CV building, application form completion, interview techniques, letter writing, planning telephone calls, employment law, health and safety, drug and alcohol awareness,  safe social media usage and much more.

Individuals are offered the opportunity to do work experience in a number of local businesses. We have excellent support from local businesses in the past such as  Guardian Systems, Bookers Cash and Carry, McConechy’s Tyre and Exhaust Centre, Link Group, CSA, B&M stores and Brucefields Golf Centre.

The programme runs as follows:

  • Weeks 1 to 8 - Monday and Tuesday at the SmartLiving office
  • Weeks 9 to 11 - Work experience four days a week
  • Week 12 - Return to the SmartLiving office to discuss individual action plans

We are currently taking referrals and will be holding information sessions and interviews on Monday 16 June and Monday 23 June from 2.00pm to 4.00pm
