LinkLiving Christmas and Vintage Fair a great success!

Published on 04/12/2015

LinkLiving’s RealLiving Befriending Older People’s Befriending Project held a successful Christmas Fair on Friday 27 November at Torryburn Community Hall.

A fantastic £324 was raised by volunteers and children from Torryburn Primary School.

There was an array of stalls including handcrafted glassware and jewellery, homemade cards and cakes as well as activities including a tombola, a raffle, a lucky dip and guess the Reindeer’s Birthday!  There was even a chance to get a massage from Therapist Caroline Blackburn.

The money raised will help to provide transport for members to the RealLiving cafes in Torryburn and Rosyth and to take them on outings.   The social cafes are a real life line for members. They give people the opportunity to meet others, share conversation over a cup of tea, take part in activities they may not normally be able to do and generally have a better quality of life by becoming less isolated.

It was a fantastic day and staff at LinkLiving would like to thank volunteers, members and Torryburn Primary School for all their help.

Thanks also to everyone who came along especially Councillors Kate Stewart and Annabelle Ewing and Pamela Hyder from Wemyss Charitable Trust for their continued support of the Project.
